Tiruvanmiyur or Thiruvanmiyur is one of the popular locations
housed in the city of Chennai. The region stands as one of the
suburban regions of the city. The place lies to the south of the
city and lined on the east by the coastal region of Tamil Nadu
state. The region is a developed commecial and learning centre in
the southern premises of the city.
Tiruvanmiyur is home to a number of popular attractions. The famous
Marundeeswarar temple is grounded here. Besides the popular temple

is situated in the Kottivakkam locality of the suburb. The garden is

in the region. The township is provided with a good number of
educational and health institutes. The Annamalai University and
College of Fine Arts are two reputed institutes in the locality of
Tiruvanmiyur. The place has a number of local markets which tend to
meet the requirements of the population here.
One of the major link roads, that connects regions situated further
south, originates from Tiruvanmiyur. The East Coast Road originates
from the M.T.C (Metropolitan Transport Corporation) terminal at
Tiruvanmiyur.
Accessibility
- The place can be reached by hiring a taxi or boarding a bus
at the city center. The place is about 12 kms from the city
center. Dr Muthulakshmi Road provides the access into the
region.
- The railway services are provided upto Mylapore suburb only.
The place is about 5 kms from the place.
- The Chennai Airport (Madras Airport) is located some 9 kms
west of Tiruvanmiyur.
