The monuments of Chennai clearly depicts the times it has been
going through. The city is provided with numerous monuments,
monuments that harbingers the experiences of the past, the memories
and memorable people associated with them, very much alive and very
much immortal as if it all had occurred only yesterday. Most of
these stand as memorials that have been erected to pay homage to
these patrons.
Many of the monuments at Chennai were built by the foreign powers
who occupied the lands at some point of the time. The monuments are
