Chennai, one of the four metropolitan cities of India has a
number of parks located in its territory. The parks form an
additional feature of this popular tourist destination in South
India. A picture of these parks would be having something like
landscaped gardens and lawns in the background, nicely laid out
sidewalks, branches of some popular trees and no doubts the picture
would be shady, back light reflected from the garden lights, a
furnished bench and more. In other words the parks can be described
as lush gardens accompanied with a monument that makes the popular
attraction, murmuring of the running fountain, joggers puffing down
the pavements, young people on a quite nice date and children ...
doing all they are supposed to do.
The parks in the Chennai come under the jurisdiction of Chennai
Municipal Corporation. The parks as such witness due care and
maintainance. A lot of funds have been poured in by the said
corporation to develop the parks as excellent getaways within the
city. The popular parks housed in the city include Nageswara Park,
Natesan Park and Sivan Park.
